WORKSHOP 1: Design Thinking

Facilitated by Camilla Kane

This workshop creates space for understanding the  competences, attitudes and values related to global citizenship.
Participants practice creative thinking skills when planning creative actions as global citizens. It follows the design thinking process- Fluency, Flexibility, Originality and Elaboration and includes a SMART analysis to set goals for action. It will follow the principal that ALL ideas are welcomed in ideation phase no matter how absurd they may seem and exercise the skill to develop these ideas into practical solutions.
It will exercise lateral thinking skill in everyone and potentially produce innovation plans of action to carry out back home. It will demonstrate the power of working in a team/ participation and support the ability to put ideas into action.

Reflections from participants:
I connected, took notice, gave, learned and engaged actively.
It showed me that a little idea can grow into a life changing action/process with dedication. belief and thought. It allowed me to think more broadly about global issues and how I can change them.
It allowed me to not be afraid of big ideas or ideas that seem out there at first, then it made me achieve goals less daunting.
It is enabling a vision of a better future by thinking about local issues,
It helped me to generate better ideas that could actually work
  • We had to think together and had to accept each others ideas, by compromise by showing and discussing different ideas
